The waters at this beach proved to be quite safe. The waves were very gentle and the waters not too deep. It was somewhat different at Dewey beach, probably because Dewey Beach faces the Atlantic, while Broadkill beach is, technically speaking, still within the Delaware Bay, although it quite near the tip of the bay.
