Christina and I went to the Gare early in the morning to find a taxi to take us to Dalaba. What a scene! I was completely useless in the process. Christina did all the work.

We had a strange incident happen as we were heading out of town in the taxi. All of a sudden a big white pickup truck pulled up in front of the taxi from the other direction and a bunch of policemen jumped out. it was like in a movie. They quickly asked Christina to get out of the front seat of the car and had one of the cops occupy the front seat. They then hauled the poor driver away for questioning while the rest of us sat in the car. We had no clue what was happening. It turns out that having three people sit in the front row of a taxi is not allowed in Conakry although it happens all the time elsewhere in the country. Anyway, they let the taxi driver go after a short while and we got on our way. Scary!
