Interesting and funny commentary. I've never seen these...really cool shot too!

A very delicate stage of the life of the fern that you caught there, while the later stage will make a strong plant. The dof is perfect and the light nicely reveals the details.
I had never heard about these ramps before.

Excellent exposure Karen. Never ate ramps although I used to see them often enough in my back packing days. Ate a fiddle head or two though. :^)

Heck, I've never had a fiddlehead or a ramp. But I like the image. Very crisp and nicely composed.

Beautiful shot of the Fiddleleaf fern. And, yes, you can cook them easily. Dip them in a batter and fry them--delicious. Excuse Emeril, he is from New Jersey.

I now know that ramps are wild leeks.

Fiddleheads!!.... hummm, maybe not, these look a little fuzzy. I used to pick fiddleheads in Maine but I haven't had a one in years.

Thanks for the memory of fiddleheads and butter. Nice shot!
