Surf like this is very rare in Cornwall (once a year if you're very lucky).
You can see the triumph in this guy's pose, but disaster was imminent, the wave closed out on top of him!

Jono, I love the layers and water hue of this shot, and of course the action is captured at a perfect moment. But the figure of the surfer bothers me....the utter blackness of the silhouette doesn't seem natural somehow (did you paint/burn it?), and unfortunately the arm posture makes it look to me more like a crab claw than human. Is there a way you could work with it a little differently?? The photo is so strong, I feel it deserves another go on that figure. DF
