Inside a dead tree

Took a Sunday afternoon drive (gads, am I getting old ??) around the countryside. Ended up at my favorite park, and found a huge tree that had been recently felled by the bad weather a few weeks ago. This looked like some kind of cave drawing that is found in France, almost like the tree wanted to leave it's mark. It was a magnificent tree, and I was sad to see it gone. cool shot.... interesting that the center of the trunk was rotting.... wonder if part of it fell during those high winds we had recently... it's always sad when an old tree goes :-(

The fantastic work of Pholiota Squamosa, this mushromm "eats" trees from inside to outside. A horrible parasite.

You're only getting old if you went for a 10 mile ride this morning and just got back. (I get restless with 20mph drivers of which I know you are not..lol)
I like this shot, your right it looks like a cave drawing. You can almost see the Bison shot with arrows. (this is a psych test isnt it?)
