I find it fascinating that the shape of the birds' backs echos the shape of the bridge in the background.
Also, the strong horizontal layering gives a restful feel, complemented by the feeling of safety that a flock of birds imply.
Also, the color palette is so good - cool colors throughout, and the birds in black and white!
