The White-faced Heron also known as the White-fronted Heron is a self-introduced native,it is also common throughout Australia and New Guinea. But what I found very interesting was this bird is a late arrival to New Zealand and up until the 1960's it was consider a rare visitor. Now it is commonly seen around farms and estuaries.
