The “Fu Bell” of National Taiwan University (NTU) is to commemorate the former Principal Fu Szu-nien.
It rings 21 sounds hourly to remind everyone that time is precious, and you can engage in work or activities for only 21 hours every day, but must have 3 hours left as an important moment to think deeply about your own experience and personality.
In the motto of the university, the Fu Bell is placed at the centre and occupied an important position. Therefore, the Fu Bell represents the main spirit of NTU.
