In the past, it was used to support the power consumption of air conditioner of Chu-Kuang Express. This is because many of Chu-Kuang Express was pulled by Diesel Locomotive and the under coach generator cannot provide sufficient power to support the air-conditioner. As the length of generator is just half of the power and baggage car, the remained half was spared for carrying baggages. This car was built in 1970 in Japan.
