In 19th Century, the Central and Western District was call Victoria City. After the possession of British Navy in 1841, this district have been the most important district in Hong Kong until now. The headquarters of government, banks as well as many international firms are located in Central. In the past 100 years, many of Chinese merchants have been running their business in Western District. When compare with the other districts of Hong Kong, the Central and Western District was developed in much earlier era. At last, I would like to tell you a story. There is a street in Central and Western District which called Possession Street. It is the first place of British Navy landed in Hong Kong.
