Although one of the most simple pieces on the marker, it is about one of the most important. the cocking rod protrudes through a hole in the back block entering into lower body tube. The cocking rod screws directly into the hammer and when the back block is pushed back by the ram the cocking rod pulls the hammer back thus cocking the marker. If the location of the head is too far up the rod or the entire rod backs out it can create mis-firing.
