In 2004, I visited Svalbard for the first time. However, this was before I knew much about photography or camera equipment. With only a basic SLR and the kit lens, I came back with some nice landscapes, but all my wildlife shots were disappointing. My polar bears were particularly disappointing as most shots required some creativity to find the bear in the shot. Since that time, I have been determined to go back and do it right. June 2011 was that time.
