Both males and females of these brightly colored tanagers were around the grounds of our hotel in Mindo. Tough to get close at times to some of these birds, but then others just came right in. The hotel where we stayed had 3 stories and each story had a balcony open to the air where we could shoot into the trees at three different levels. Different birds were seen from each balcony and the ground floor. It was a great lesson in which birds use which levels in the forest.
