Bassariscus astutus

This beautiful ring-tailed cat, a relative of the racoon and a nocturnal hunter of the American southwest showed up in our rustic garage here on our property in central Arizona last night. I ran into the house to grab a camera and to get Melanie to come out and see this beautiful animal, which she had never seen before.
