I have been visiting China for nearly 20-years now and, to my regret, have never brought more than a pocket camera on these trips. I like to travel light. Keeping with that thought I brought only a little used 20D and a 50mm lens which I managed to damage, no auto focus. That will teach me to bring light-weight gear.
China's Ethnic Minorities:
China officially registers 56 ethnic groups. The ethnic Chinese, known as the Han Chinese, compose 93 percent of the population. Han Chinese speak seven languages, with Mandarin as the official and most common. Most of the 55 other ethnic groups use their own languages. China's minorities account for 7 percent of the entire population. I enjoyed visiting four of these minorities and while three of them are very similar in many ways, they also have interesting differences. I hope you enjoy the photos. Next time, I shall travel better equipped.
