Golden State Star Party 2009. This was held June 20-24 near Adin CA in Modoc County. There were still some storms lurking about and a big one hit on the first night, so I skipped the 20th and instead drove up on the 21st. The next three nights were very good and I was able to capture NGC 5907 and Abell 39 with an 8 inch Newtonian. This year was not as hot as it was in 2008. In fact the night/morning of 21/22 the temperature dropped to 39F. It took a long time to warm up in the sleeping bag after a night of observing and imaging.
