Abell 39 (PN A66 39, PN G047.0+42.4, PK 047+42.1) planetary nebula in Hercules. Taken June 23, 2009
at the Golden State Star Party. Imaged with CCD Lab’s Q285M and a C8N at f5 on a Losmandy G11/Gemini
mount. The seeing that night was average to poor, resulting in softer and larger star sizes. The
RGB subframes were 5 minutes binned 1x1 resulting in the following total exposures R:G:B (min) =
70:70:70. Captured with Nebulosity, calibrated and sigma combined in Iris with other processing
using PixInsight LE and Photoshop CS. North is up.
