I use Canon DPP for raw conversion and Paint Shop Pro for things like fringe correction (have never used Adobe Camera RAW). The PSP handles the fringing reasonably well.

Is the purple fringing correctable in Adobe Camera RAW using Tamron lens profile automatically?

Great job! Although you have explained the superiority of a canon lens the price ie 1/10 of a canon more than makes a tamron lens a good buy for an amateur photographer like myself.

JUST BOUGHT ONE TAMRON 70-300MM AFTER SEEING THIS WEB. IT IS CERTAINLY VERY HELPFUL. AT LEAST IT GIVE ME GENERAL VIEW ON WHAT THIS TAMRON CAN AND CANNOT DO.
