Message from Joe Willie
My interest in photography began in the digital era when I purchased a 4MP Olympus fixed lens camera in December of 2003 and began using it to photograph racers on the high school ski team that I coached. A 7MP Olympus fixed lens camera (April 2005) and a Canon Rebel XT (August 2005) followed. Between 2006 and 2013 and I used a Canon 30D with a variety of Canon and Tamron lenses (see Lens Tests gallery). In the Fall of 2013 I upgraded to a 70D. I print with an Epson Stylus R1800 medium format pigment printer on Epson and Inkpress papers, my current favorite being Inkpress Print Plus Heavyweight Matte. I am primarily a sports and wildlife photographer. Living in the Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York near lakes, parks, preserves, sanctuaries, ski areas, and Watkins Glen International Raceway enables me to photograph wildlife, alpine racing, and auto racing regularly. Thanks for visiting.
