Kraków (Polish pronunciation: [ˈkrakuf] also Cracow, or Krakow) - is the second largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland, the former capital of our country. Situated on the Vistula River (Polish: Wisła) in the Lesser Poland region, the city dates back to the 7th century. Kraków has traditionally been one of the leading centres of Polish academic, cultural, and artistic life.

Kraków is a very popular tourist destination, with over 7 million tourists yearly, including 2 million foreign travelers. The reason is, it is a beautiful old city, with numerous churches, 28 museums, interesting architecture, palaces, a royal castle on Wawel hill. Kraków is also a major centre of education, with Jagiellonian University, the oldest university in Poland(founded in 1364) and ranked as the second-best university in the country.

Historic Centre of Kraków is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1978.
