POLTERABEND is the term for a German wedding custom in which on the night before the wedding the guests break porcelain to bring luck to the couple's marriage.
The newlywed-to-be have to clean up the street and nobody can help them.
When they are almost done, people bring from the cars more porcelain and throw it on the street and the fun starts over :)))
