Two-Piece Monument

Lviv, Ukraine view map

Monument to Ukrainian poet, artist and spirit of Ukrainian nation - Taras Shevchenko, erected on August 24, 1992.
Shevchenko is regarded to have put the foundation of modern Ukrainian literature and, to a large extent, the modern Ukrainian language.
To the left of the poet rises the Wave of National Revival, a twelve-metre high symbolic stele with figured reliefs, erected in 1995.
Sculptors: brothers V. and A. Suchorski.
