This is Katse Dam. It is the first Dam created in a large 3 dam electricity scheme funded by the South African Government.

Many thanks Pabs, a quick websearch for basotho pony trekking centre seems to indicate it is, but I guess things change quickly. I hope it is, it enjoyed my visit to the place.

@ Steve, Im planing on going to see this place next week, how are the roads leading to the dam? and where can I find out more about these tours? Im staying at the Goldengate National park in the free state so what to make a day trip

Dineo, I have been to this dam, what an experience! If you go there over a week-end, you can do a dam tour on a Saterday afternoon at about 14h00, the tour guide knows all there is to know about this feat of engineering, Steve Miller
