I got to fiddling with my iPhone today. I am fascinated by the panorama setting. I have used it a lot. One thing I have tried is a "walking" panorama where I hold it facing an object and walk along with the pano running. I had some good success in Egypt taking a long wall carving. I had no success trying to photograph the hangars. So today I tried it on our garage door. Todays photo is (top) a normal photograph, (middle) a standing panorama and (bottom) a walking panorama. I figured that the walking version would eliminate the parallax issues you get with a standing panorama, but it just got different parallax issues. I guess what I learned is that a normal photo is just fine in these circumstances where you can get back far enough from the subject.
