First day of a two day drive back home to Houston. The total trip is 1091 miles, and we split it exactly in half by staying overnight at Fort Stockton. It was speed limit plus 5 all the way except for about 10 minutes wasted on road construction just north of El Paso. In Texas the I-10 speed limit is 80 mph. Love it especially when the traffic is sparse.

We got to Fort Stockton in time to check into the hotel, buy gas and go to mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Saturday mass was preferred because we wanted to get away early Sunday morning. Anyway, the service was packed, which surprised me. It was the usual catholic mass except the homily went over 28 minutes. That is a long sit.

After church we grabbed some Mickey-D double cheeseburgers and relaxed in our hotel room. A good day all in all. The photo is of the altar at St. Joseph's. Ginny likes to get photos like this. It is interesting what variety there is in altars.
