We did a lot of stuff today. Visited the Titan Missile Museum, had lunch with my dear friend Wendy from grade school and had a guided tour of Presidio San Agustin del Tucson Museum.
The Titan Missile Museum is the only Titan missile silo still in existence. It houses a full size titan practice missile which gives you a good perspective of the enormity of the nuclear weapon. It is 103 feet long. The tour was very good. The guide knew his stuff and did an excellent job of explaining everything. BTW - the Titans were replaced by the Minuteman II. We visited a Minuteman Silo in South Dakota. Today's photo is looking down the silo at the missile.
Our last touring stop was at The Presidio San Agustin del Tucson Museum in Tucson. We had the attention of one of the volunteers for 1 1/2 hours and he was a font of knowledge. Whenever we can we look for a tour because you don't get nearly as much just reading the cards.
In the evening we babysat the grandkids so that Richard and Christiane could go out on a date. They ate a pile of pizza then we started watching The Karate kid. A good day all around.
