We spent the day in Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids visiting the Gerald R. Ford Library and the Museum. We had read up on his history and found that background useful when looking at the exhibits. One thing I didn't know is that he was a Naval Officer during WW2 and served on an aircraft carrier in the Pacific. He was (among other things) a gunnery officer and saw quite a bit of combat in the 1 1/2 years he was deployed on the USS Monterey (CVL-26). The museum and the library were very well done. This is our 11th (of 13) presidential library. We will finish them off (Hoover and Clinton) on this trip. This photo is a panorama I shot with my iPhone of the Museum.
