And so the testing continues on my new SX70. This morning I went out to the airport and set up to do a scan of ISO performance. My target again was a Glenmorangie box. I put them all together into a composite. This is best viewed in "original." Left side top to bottom is ISO 100, 200 and 400. Right side top to bottom is ISO 800, 1600 and 3200. I would say this is very disappointing to me. 100 and 200 are not bad. 400 is marginal and the others are pretty poor. I was hoping for much better, but I remember this is a tiny sensor. You get what you pay for. Each of the exposures are cropped 651 X 350 (.227 MP) which is a small part of the frame. Maybe I am being too picky. It certainly exacerbates the problems. Next up is testing sharpness at various focal lengths. Not sure what I am going to do yet. Stand by for adventure.
