I used the 1951 USAF resolution test chart to do some more testing. What started out today as a scan of ISO for sharpness resulted in a different conclusion. Of course, the sharpness is worse at higher ISO settings. I wanted to have better feel for it so the 1951 USAF resolution test chart was just right. What I did find in addition is that the image sharpness seems to suffer in the middle focal lengths. I don't know if that was a result of my technique or something intrinsic with the lens. Or maybe autofocus. Heck who knows. I just want to see if this camera deserves a place in our travel kit. What I really need is a nice sunny day to take it out in the field and see what I get.
Today's photo is a composite of (top to bottom) of 21 mm, 176 mm and 1360 mm. Best viewed at "original" size. I adjusted the distance to target so that they came out about the same size in the frame. All were shot indoors.
