My friend Gordon (merriwolf) had an interesting photo the other day. As I was driving out to the airport I noticed that there were several layers of clouds and the sun was coming in and out of view. I decided to have a go at the type of photo that Gordon had. I had my G5X MkII with me and proceeded to spend about 30 minutes trying to get an image. It was a bit dodgy to start but I turned on the electronic neutral density filter, dropped the ISO and closed the aperture. I also went to manual focus and set it at infinity. I hit it lucky. It was very hard to see what I was getting because I had been looking at the sun too much and my eyes couldn't adjust to the screen on the back of the camera. There were two levels of clouds moving along and the sun came in and out of view quickly. I ended up taking about 45 exposures and surprisingly 18 came out with images that weren't bad, not great but not bad. I did quite a bit of adjusting to get today's picture. In all honesty it wasn't what I saw when I was out there. Let's not let reality get in the way of a nice picture.
