I got into some camera testing today. Ginny has a Canon G5X and I have a Canon G5X Mk II. We like them a lot. When we take group photos using a tripod, it seems that my camera gives slightly better results. So I decided to have a go at comparing them. Quite a while ago I did some work measuring the MTF (modulation Transfer Function) of various cameras and lenses using the 1951 USAF resolution test chart among others. So I set up in the kitchen and started shooting. My plan was to use the "Compare" view in Lightroom to have a look at the results. Although today's photo doesn't show it too well, the G5X Mk II (on the right) was slightly better in sharpness and noise. Need to do more testing.
