We had a good day in Fredericksburg, TX. In the morning we took a two hour bus tour of the town. The guide was very interesting and provided a good history of the area. I hadn't realized the extent of the German settlement here. There are a good many old houses to be seen. After the tour we had a tailgate lunch then Ginny walked around on Main Street looking at shops.
In the afternoon we met up with Ginny's cousin Jan and her husband Terry and went out to the Garrison Brothers distillery. The tour was informative. It is a very small distillery. The tasting was fun. It is a wheated bourbon and was fairly smooth. Not something to hurry back to. A quick breeze by the bottle shop ended in a decision not to buy any. At $90.00 per bottle it just wasn't worth it.
Dinner was at the Hitching Post and it was very good. The chicken fried steak was done just right. We had an enjoyable dinner then called it a night.
Today's photo is in front of the Vereins Kirche, one of the iconic sights in Fredericksburg. As you can see, I got the memo that yellow is the color of the day.
