The final objective today was Fredericksburg, TX. It is less than two hours drive from Austin, but there was stuff along the way we wanted to see. The first location was the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park just west of Johnson City. We had been there over 40 years ago. Honestly, I didn't remember very much about. Unfortunately, the Texas White House was closed to visitors. They did have on display Air Force 1/2, a Lockheed Jetstar that shuttled the President back and forth to Air Force bases in Austin and San Antonio.

We stopped also at Wildseed Farms where you can buy all sorts of expensive stuff. They specialize in wildflowers. It was the tail end of the season which had been too dry. There were plenty of flowers to see, but it would have been nice to see them in their prime.

If you are in these parts of Texas, you have to go to Luckenbach like Willie and Waylon and the Boys. It is really nothing more than a very rustic music venue. There were a couple guys on the stage performing. We had a beer and moved on. We actually made a second trip there to get Richard a T-shirt.

The only other thing we did was have dinner at Altstadt Brewery. We had heard there was a trivia night there, but it turned out there wasn't. The food was good and the beer was beer. We found a trivia app on the phone and had our own impromptu game. We won!
