Our New Orleans trip didn't cover much ground, 766.7 miles as you can see. The return trip included a flashing Check Engine light which started in Gretna, LA, just after we bought gas. Ginny had a look in the manual and we called our favorite mechanic to figure out what to do. The flashing light means that a cylinder is missing. In fact that cylinder has been disabled by the computer on the car. One diagnostic thing you can do is stop the car and turn off the engine for a while to see if it resets. I elected not to do that since the engine was running and there was no risk to the engine according to our mechanic. So we tooled along yesterday to the house. And sure enough this morning when I started it, the flashing light was gone. I plan to get it to the mechanic tomorrow first thing to get that checked as well as on oil change because we are heading out to Alpharetta in a couple weeks.
