We started put from Hana where we spent the night. First stop was the southern entrance to Haleakala National Park. This was the 45th National Park we have visited. On this side of the island there is no access to the summit of the volcano. We spent some time at the visitor's center then hiked down to the Seven Pools. It was somewhat less spectacular than expected. Some photos were snapped, but nothing of particular note.

A few more miles down the road is Palapala Ho'omau Congregational Church. It is the location of Charles Lindbergh's grave. There is absolutely no signage that indicates it, so you have to know it is there. We did our research. Forty years ago, on our last trip to Hawaii, we also visited here. We spent the rest of the day heading back along the narrow windy Hana road.

It was Ginny's birthday today. We celebrated with a card and a bag of chocolates. Life is good.
