Today we drove the road to Hana. It is only 40 miles, but it takes hours for two reasons. First, it is very windy with lots of single lane bridges and road sections. Second, there are things to stop and see, mainly waterfalls. At this point I have seen so many small waterfalls that the novelty has worn off. But Ginny likes them, so we stop. There were a lot of people on the road. Parking was difficult. We made a stop at the Garden of Eden Botanical Garden which was nice. Also a welcome break from the drive.

We also stopped at Wai'anapanapa State Park which has a nice black sand beach and some impressive rocks. Lots of nice things to photograph. One cool thing was a little lava tube you could enter and look out the end at a sea arch. That is today's photo.

Our place in Hana was an AirBNB which proved to be fairly nice. There is no air conditioning, but plenty of places to sit and enjoy the local breeze. For dinner we went to the food trucks and got some Thai food. I had coconut crusted Ahi tuna and Ginny got a curry that was supposed to be chicken but turned out to be tofu. Yuk.
