Today we returned to Pearl Harbor to visit the Pacific Aviation Museum. It is not huge, but it has some interesting airplanes in the collection. The most interesting to me was the pictured N2S-3 Stearman. It turns out that George H. W. Bush actually flew this trainer during his primary training in Minneapolis in late 1942. They had copies of the original aircraft logs to verify that assertion. That is pretty neat.
At the end of the day we went to church at the Cathedral Basilica of our Lady of Peace. It is in downtown Honolulu. As the service was beginning the priest asked that any visitors stand up, which we did. Somebody came around and gave all the visitors a cowry necklace. How is that for hospitality?
