I was looking at some stuff about our last trip which we completed yesterday. It ended up being 1744 miles, of which about 1640 miles are just getting there and back. The trip to Tuscaloosa Thursday was rainy. The return trip yesterday was nice. Driving in rainy conditions makes me a little on edge, especially when in the vicinity of 18 wheelers which put out a tremendous amount of spray. This time of year, the shorter days make driving a while in the dark inevitable. When you cross part of a time zone going east you lose 45 minutes or so of daylight. There is no way around it, just the way it goes. Anyway I would never pass up a chance to drive somewhere because of these considerations. Home for a while.
