Today we went for a cruise on the Houston Ship Channel. It is fun because you go right by several miles of docks with lots of big ships. The boys thought it was very cool. So did everybody. It also helped that it was a nice day. When they turn around to head back they give everybody a can of soda. AND it is free!

In the afternoon we went to the the Battleship Texas and the San Jacinto Monument. In case you are not a Texian, San Jacinto is where Sam Houston defeated Santa Ana and secured the independence of Texas from the Mexicans on April 21, 1836. Nine years later Texas was admitted to the union as the only sovereign country to do so.

Today's photo is of the family waiting to board MV Sam Houston for our cruise on the Houston Ship Channel.
