It was a great feeling to sleep in our own house again. There is stuff everywhere in the bedroom because we had to press it into service as a storage area. You have to carefully negotiate your way to and from the bed. Still, it is our bedroom and we have returned.

One of the big deals today was our water damaged furniture returned from the repair shop. Today's photo is of the kitchen table which is made of hard maple. Originally is was an oiled finish which gave it a very nice butcher block appearance. After the water damage it needed total refinishing and Ginny and Melinda decided that a dark brown almost ebony finish was just the ticket. I was horrified because I liked the natural wood finish. When it arrived today and we put it in the finished kitchen, it looked great. The wall color and the slate floor worked well with it. That is why I cook dinner and avoid design choices. Ginny still has to find the right chairs for it. The original chairs were totally destroyed in the flood. There is also going to be an area rug under the table. That needs to be selected as well. We still have weeks of rearranging and culling and putting stuff back where it belongs.

Nobody is going back to work from this house.
Going back to play is a different story.

I think Ginny shows a great deal of taste and appreciation for beauty. Send her back to worm as an interior designer John
