Project Day 98 - Exile Day 48 - A big disappointment today. It was raining like heck and they didn't want to deliver the carpets under those conditions. That is understandable, but still a bummer. Every day delay in the carpet installation is a day delay in returning to our house. They will deliver them tomorrow but the installation crew is not available so further delay is in the cards. The usual crew spent the day cleaning up, installing the dishwasher and starting to install the drawer and cabinet pulls. They also installed three of the mirrors in the bathrooms. Today's photo is in one of the upstairs vanities. The lighting fixture is new and Ginny did a good job of selecting that one. It is an LED fixture. We have quite a few new lights that are LEDs. Ginny wanted a bunch more lighting cans in the kitchen and they turned out very nice. All the kitchen lighting is on dimmers.

LED lights are a lot more efficient than incandescent lights. I figure they operate on only 20% or less power than an equivalent brightness incandescent. Additionally they are supposed to last for a very long time. We didn't convert the other canned lighting to LEDs. We have a large supply of those incandescent bulbs. If they ever get used up, it is a simple matter to switch to LED lights.
