Project Day 97 - Exile Day 47 - The Wells Fargo wagon arrived today (if you remember the Music Man) and it brought us three new toilets. Ginny picked them out. I had nothing to do with the decision. They are different from the normal ones because the tank and bowl are all one unit. As a side note, one of the remaining toilets in the house started leaking last week. Fortunately, Ginny was there and there was no damage. Today was sort of a lazy one because the electricians did not show up as expected. The contractor's crew spent the day knocking off punch list items.

Tomorrow the carpet is supposed to get installed upstairs. The entire second floor is getting new carpet. Once that happens we can start moving stuff back upstairs. If you have ever done a large carpet job, you know that installation means progressively clearing out rooms and laying carpet. After the first room, things can start being placed in their final location. My expectation is that by the end of the day we will have a livable second floor. There is still need to put towel racks and wallpaper in the upstairs bathrooms. That will be a few weeks down the road.

The good news on the inspection side of things is that once the carpets are installed, the inspectors can come in and we can get an occupancy permit. Maybe by the end of the week our exile will be over.
