Today we traveled to Mt. Cook and checked into the Hermitage hotel. This is the view of Mt. Cook from our balcony. In the afternoon (before this photo was taken) we hiked up to the face of a glacier. The weather was beautiful and the long hike was very refreshing. The glacier was sort of a let down because all you could see was the terminal moraine, e.g. a giant pile of rocks which are pushed ahead of the glacier. We enjoyed the sights and the hike. Here we are getting ready to go down for dinner.
