Scholes Field is Galveston's airport. Just recently they opened a control tower, which is good. Makes it a little safer to shoot practice ILS approaches there. Bloke and I like to fly down there because the runway is wide enough to safely do formation landings and takeoffs. Things are being developed at a rapid pace in the surroundings. There is a new water park, and Moody Gardens is right next door. Of course, don't forget the Lone Star Flight Museum, a five minute walk from the terminal.
