There have always been three very good reasons to visit Monument Hill State -- there are three separate, interesting features found within the park: the beautiful monument; the 3-story Kreische House, and the multilevel brewery, all within easy walking distance.

In the month of December there is a 4th good reason to visit the park. On three weekends in December, the park welcomes visitors to the colorful Trail of Lights and Open House. The trail, with multiple displays along the way, is an easy walk leading from Park Headquarters down to Kreische house. There you’ll find it decked out, inside and out, in Christmas decorations and lights. At Kreische House you’ll have a tour through the house that has period furnishing, entertainment, refreshments, and of course, a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus for the young kids. The trail of lights walk winds back to Headquarters. All in all, you’ll find it a unique, relaxing, thoroughly enjoyable holiday experience, with something for the whole family. Many families have made it a holiday family tradition.
