On the left many years ago was, Battersea bus garage. Phillips Mills, and Bowleys paint factory.
The bus garage has relocated. Phillips Mills has closed. Bowleys burnt down. I was working at the building next door at the time. The heat was incredible. The fire brigade even had fireboats in the Thames pumping water. They only managed to stop it spreading. The fire only stopped when there was no paint left. I went in the factory a few days after to look. There was only thick brick walls (about 3 foot)and steel girders left. I never owned a camera at that time.
