Battersea Bridge normally carries a huge volume of vehicular traffic. A few months ago a boat hit the bridge, severely scraping the paintwork. The bridge was instantly closed to all cars and lorries. Buses only are allowed across. In about a years time and many millions of pounds cost. The bridge will be reopened. Another massive punishment to people who dare to drive private cars.
