I was looking at the crew list for the Victory at the Battle of Trafalgar. On it was John Cooper of Wandsworth. Putney is in the Borough of Wandsworth. I checked as much as I could but could find no link between us.

Excellent gallery John. You might want to look at Ian Lavery's book about the restoration that is an ongoing project on Victory. It is ver informative, and it will help you make more sense of some of the darker recesses of this great ship.

Not getting hit is no issue Michael.
Somebody pointing a gun at me, and firing it, that is a real big issue.

If you Google search Victory Rolling Broadside you will find some interesting clips. And keep in mind Churchill's " There is nothing more exhilarating than being shot at without issue."

Great start John. I hope you run with this.I can't remember a time when I was not fascinated with Nelson and Victory. I even own a watch with a chunk of Victory scrap in it. Unfortunately not a Bremont!
