I have read that the Victory used 7 tons of black powder at the battle of Trafalgar, and after the battle still had 28 tons of powder in the magazine.

I would love to see that John. There are some videos on You Tube doing a simulation broadside. But it looks cheap and nasty. Nothing but the real thing here would be good enough. 210 years since the battle this year, what better reason to fire a broadside.
