John. We briefly communicated back in November 2011, just after the release of the 1911 census, and then Ida Deller turned up in an Essex institution. Also, about a picture taken about 1918 of Henry & Olive Ward and son Henry was born 1915. Henry Ward survived being gassed in France in WW1 and Olive Florence Stocker survived smallpox as a schoolgirl
Ten years on, and they have just released the 1921 Scottish census, and I found Ida, aged 12 years and 7 months, in Helensburgh with her "Aunt Jane", as described in a letter from Sheila, Ida's daughter.
Jane H. Robertson was enumerated in the 1921 Scotland census as head at 114 Sinclair Street, Helensburgh, Dumbarton, Scotland, with her 3 adopted children, Ida Florence Deller, Emily Maud Hale and Ruby J. Robinson. Jane is head, single, aged 55 years and 11 months, born about July 1865, in Lanark, Glasgow, Scotland. Home duties. Jane has two other visitors, Mary and Frank W. Eardley, Church of England Clergyman, and on three consecutive census returns, 1901, 1911 and now the 1921 census, Jane, Mary and Frank are together.

Ida F. Deller, adopted daughter, single, aged 12 years and 7 months, born about November 1908, Surrey, England. Scholar. She is living with "Aunt Jane", Jane H. Robertson, and her "unofficial sister" Emily M. Hale, aged 7 years and 3 months, Ruby J. Robinson, aged 3 years and 2 months, is also an adopted child in the household.

Emily is an adopted daughter, single, aged 7 years and 3 months, born about March 1914, Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. Scholar. She is living with her "unofficial sister" Ida Florence Deller, aged 12 years and 7 months, and Ruby J. Robinson, aged 3 years and 2 months, also an adopted child in the household.
